It has sub-adamantine luster, meaning that it reflects light almost as intensely as a diamond and high dispersion, close to diamond's. As a gemstone it occurs in many colors, including yellow, brown, orange, red, green, colorless and blue that is most appreciated. This blue comes especially from in the Ratanakiri Province in north-eastern Cambodia.
